Hearing notes while editing

Does anyine know how to hear the currently selected note (position on the staff) while editing a staff? Much of my composition is based on hearing the notes I want to place, and being able to hear the note that related to the space or line I was working with would help a lot.

Any ideas or suggestions?

The best way would be to add a midi keyboard or controller to your system to play in the notes.
That way you could try the notes on the keyboard and when each section of the tune sounds good to the ear then enable NoteWorthy's Step Input tool and play the notes into the score.
A small 49key keyboard controller with limited functions should cost less $100US - I guess.

You can also hear what you just entered by doing the following:

1) Go to Tools | Options | Midi and set field "Play" to "from insertion point"

2) Enter a note, or notes, then move the insertion point left so it is just behind the note

3) Press Shift+F5, which will play just the active staff, starting from the insertion point
