Instrument Percent

What does "%" (percent) mean, preceding the staff name (lower right info bar)in the display?

I once stared at this question, and I pulled it to 99% (filling the staff with crap) I got an message that said that beyond that point Nwc could crash at any time and present some bugs... I don't know why there's a limit and since you brought it up, it would be nice to know.

It is the percent of maximum used by a staff. When you approach 100%, the staff is full and cannot get any longer.

of course, that 99% is way more than adequate for just about any piece unless you have a way crap computer

One more thing: the total possible size of a staff is independent of your computer. Some computers may not have enough memory to even use all 100% of a staff size. In the end, you are limited to about 12000 items in a staff, if I remember correctly.
