Setting slur direction on chords containing rests

... you can't. Or rather, you can but it has no effect. This appears to be because the object whose slur direction property is relevant is the rest, and when you edit the chord there's no tab for the rest's properties. You can change direction all you want under the "notes" tab, but it makes no difference.

The only way to get a non-default slur direction on a chord containing a rest is to change the rest's properties before adding any notes to it (or, more usually in practice, after deleting all the notes from it). This is awkward.

Yes, I've run into this one. I think it applies to ties also. Didn't think to change the rest stem properties, tho' .....

No, it doesn't apply to ties, since rests can't be tied (take a look at the "Rests" tab the next time you edit a rest - no "Tie Direction" property). Editing a chord displays the "Notes" tab, where the tie direction is easy to change.

We confirm this as a bug. It will be corrected before next release.

---------------------------------
Bug: A split stem chord containing a rest does not recognize the slur direction set from the Notes tab in Notation Properties.
