Why does IE4 mark unread replies as read?

When I visit the forum's recent activity page I only see new topics as unread. All replies in topics where I have read at least one message are marked as read. I'm sure this was not always the case but I can't decide if the change occured when the NWC site changed or when my browser was "up"graded or when our firewall was installed.

It would be nice to be able to see all the new stuff in blue again. What do I need to do? Or is this a TYJHTLW(thing you just have to live with)?

IMHO (In My Humble Opinion), it is a browser issue only. It certainly occured when your browser was "something"graded.

IE 4 marks the whole page as read if you visited it, regardless of whether the page has been updated or not.
This forum updates pages containing the "thread" of the conversation.

I find the easiest way to keep track is to visit the "Recent Activity" page (link is at the top of the forum page). This has everythin in reverse chronological order. So if you remember when you last visited (ie what you last read), everything unread is above it.

Another solution is to use Netscape (2 or later). Though I've been told it consumes memory, I'm sure NS2 (or 3) is much smaller and quicker than IE4 !

on the other hand, if there was the date(+time) of the replies, maybe it could help too :-)

Oops, as I usually look at the link's color only, I completely forgot that the date is _already_ there :-x
maybe I should have slept instead of nwcomposing!
