Moving a group of notes up an octave?

Is it possible to select a group of notes and move them up an octave (or actually by any interval)? I don't want to transpose the whole tune, just a group of notes.

Thanks

Sure. Just select the notes, press <shift> and <ctrl> together, and use the up and down arrows on your keyboard.

Hope this helps....

You press the up arrow seven times for an octave shift as Bill said.  See this related thread.  That was to do a whole staff, but you can select just what you need.

Shifting notes has subtle effects on how accidentals are played. Unless you are shifting the entire staff a multiple of 7 positions (an octave), it is best to you may find it useful to Force Accidentals prior to the shift and Audit Accidentals after the shift.
