User Defined Keys

Is there any way of using the 'f' keys to do automatic bar numbers and automatic beams while writing parts without having to go to the drop down menus?

G'day Richard,
not natively, but there are several users who have had success using the macro recorder from Win3.1 - it works in XP quite well but you need to load it each time you want to use it in a session, but using keyboard <Alt> keys to activate the menus doesn't really take long and I'm not sure it's be worth the effort...

I just use the [alt] key as I'm typing (alt,t,a for beaming) or, if I want beaming different to the default, just select the group of notes (using [shift] with cursor arrows) and hit ctrl-b.  As for bar numbering, set that up in the page setup dialogue, and they number automatically as you type.
