Record MIDI Keyboard

I am using NoteWorthy to record, in realtime, notes entered through a MIDI keyboard.  When doing this, I have noticed that NoteWorthy imports recorded octaves (such has G above middle C and the next higher G) as two different staves.  This behavior seems to be related to the MIDI import wizard's behavior of wanting to split MIDI channels into different tracks based on note range.  I can't, however, seem to find a way to change this behavior for realtime recording.  There doesn't seem to be anything on the Import tab to control this.  Might I be overlooking something?  If not, it would seem that the Import tab could use some additional controls to help avoid this type of behavior if not desired.

Just to be sure there is no misunderstanding: The MIDI ouput from your keyboard is not "stereo." That is, there are no separate signals for left or right hand. The music software (NWC or any other) cannot tell which hand plays which note. So, the pitches are split based on pitch. Then, you have to go back and make corrections wherever the splitting pitch is inappropriate for the fingering.

I am inputting a Violin part.  I was hoping to use realtime record to play the part to save some time.  There is divisi in a section which has octaves.  NoteWorthy splits the octave into two staves.  I would rather (in this case) see the octave of notes appear on a single staff.  I can do all of this manually using "step record" mode, but I was hoping to save some time.  You should be able to re-create my frustration easily.  Just start realtime recording, play some octaves in which the lower note is in the octave above middle C, and then see how NoteWorthy displays the result.  (In my world you will see two staves...one with the higher note and one with the lower note.)  I would like control over whether or not NoteWorthy splits or doesn't split the realtime MIDI input, and where the split would occur.

Try Tools/Options/Import/Maximum Single track Chord Size. If you set the number large enough you can accommodate even the biggest ones on one staff.

Thanks Peter.  That's exactly the point that I was missing.

Ah, the misunderstanding (of the original question) was mine. A more common question (not the one asked) is, why doesn't NWC import left and right hand the way I played them on the keyboard? The reason is that the keyboard itself does not know which hand you are using to touch the keys.
