SATB staff labels

I am new to NWC so would appreciate some help. When entering SATB parts and activating the layering of soprano with alto and tenor with bass, I can only see the Soprano and Tenor staff labels on the printed score. How can I print Alto and Bass as well? Thanks in anticipation!

The problem is that when staffs are layered, only the label of the top staff in each layer will reproduce.

You could fake it by putting both names on one staff, but I think they would come out on one line instead of two.

Try labelling the staff with some blank spaces to force the left end of the first staff inward, and then insert text between the beginning of the staff and the clef.  Make it right justified, do not preserve width, and pad it a little with some blank spaces after the words.

This will give you a workable label for the first staff of each system only, all the others will be unlabelled.

I use the nbsp (alt+0160) for the staff labels (blank spaces don't work - go figure) and insert the actual names as text items, right justified (with spaces after the name [like David wrote - regular spaces do work here]), at two different heights (+2 & -2 usually).  I don't insert between the beginning of the staff and the clef, I insert after.  Inserting before creates a gap of empty staff ahead of the clef, which looks so ugly.

This is a good thing because the first system should be indented anyway.
