Chinese Sevenths (Inverted Notes/flags) 1998-04-21 04:00 am I'm experimenting with the program for barbershop quartet use. I'm have problems writting a "Chinese Seventh" chord -- two notes on the same cleft, inverted so that the higher voice part is singing the lower note, and visa versa. The basic problem is that the note flags have to be inverted, and the program doesn't accomodate for that. One solution (manually) is to write a small "x" above the chord notating the inversion. This too is not available -- seemingly. Any solutions?ThanksHarmoniously,David ColePresident Pioneer District - SPEBSQSA, Inc. Quote Selected
Re: Chinese Sevenths (Inverted Notes/flags) Reply #1 – 1998-04-21 04:00 am It is true that NWC will not allow a chord to contain an upward stem note that is below a downward stem note. However, the staff layering feature (currently in an experimental development phase) will allow this by placing each of the voices in your quartett are notated on a separate staff. You can acquire some more info on the experimental feature at http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/composer/usertips.htm. Quote Selected
