Special ending and repeats

I have been struggling with special endings and repeat bars. I am combing 3 songs into one. The first two songs need 3 repeats, but the last ending, 3, in both songs needs to be x beats longer and I am not familiar w/ flow directions and those other stuff. Here is a diagram of how I want it to flow:

| INTRO |: SONG 1 #2 :|(3) |: SONG 2 #2 :| (3) | SONG 3

|= Bar Line
|: & :|= master repeat open/close
#x= x Times to repeat w/same ending
(x)= Last repeat w/different ending of song

I hope I haven't confused you. Please tell me how to do this.

If, and how, you can accomplish this depends on the contents of SONG 1, 2, and 3. If none of the songs include repeats within themselves, then you can accomplish this by combining Master Repeats with Special Endings, basically exactly like your lay out shown above. See the Repeat*.nwc samples that come with NWC for more details.

If SONG 1, 2, or 3 includes repeats, then it may not be possible to create the repeat structure that you want. If this is the case, it would be interesting to know why you are combining them, and how the repeat structure work within each song.

Thanks but I am combining them because the songs all flow together w/no pauses in between each song and song 3 is  very short, doesn't have any repeats, and ends the whole song.

Try this:

|INTRO||: SONGa 1&2 :||(3)||: SONGb 1&2 :||(3)| SONGc |

|= Bar Line
||: & :||= "Local" repeat open/close (Close reqires repeat value of 2)

After local repeat finishes, the flow "falls through" (computer parlance) to the next bar (which would be the final (different ending) verse of the previous song.

This will require a duplicate verse (except for differet final notes) for the first two songs but it WILL play correctly and is notationally sound (although awkward 8-)
