non-pitched note notation

...and by that I mean the little crosses you get attached to note stems to indicate either spoken words set to rhythm or, I suppose, certain percussion marks. I'm interested in songs so don't know that much about percussion, but you certainly see these in songs (especially musical theatre) to indicate a spoken passage set to a specific rhythm.

How do you do it? Can you do it?

At this time you can only do it as text and it's difficult to get it looking reasonable. This request shows up fairly regularly. Please add your voice to the wishlist to increase the chances that it will be implemented in a future version of NWC.
