Recording output of Sound Canvas into WAV

Hi,
I've got a Roland Sound Canvas (SC-88VL)that can hook into either my midi port or a serial port. I can connect it to my home stereo to make recordings on a cassette deck via RCA - plug cables. Does anybody out there know if it's possible to record the output of the Sound Canvas into a WAV file (without just using a microphone). Maybe there's some kind of "loop back" connection that can be made, or something like that?
Thanks
Bob

If your sound card supports full duplex operation, you can directly record the play back of NoteWorthy Composer using digital audio capture software. The "loop back" is done directly within the card.

There has been much discussion about this over the years, although not specifically about your brand of hardware. I do this all the time with just a cheapo Sound Blaster 16 Value Edition. I have the line-out on my Sound Canvas ported through the line-in on the soundcard so that its on-board mixer can mix SC output with .WAV audio.

This used to be important back when games still had MIDI soundtracks, so I could have both music and sound effects coming through the same set of speakers.

If you check out my music page you can hear some .RA files that I recorded using this very setup.
