G'day Allan,
something that came up in a recent thread somewhere...
If you change your lyric line to have:
"1. Begin Verse" instead of using the underscore to join it up as in your example, then you can:
- Place a grace note at the same pitch as the first note and tie it to the first note - this keeps the playback sounding right
- Set the properties for both the grace note and the first note to "Lyric Syllable Always" - this gets the syllable alignment right - the "1." is under the grace note and the "Begin" is under the first note.
- Set the properties for the grace note to Visibility Never - this stops the grace note and tie from printing.
Your rests etc. in other staves will line up with the first note and not the grace note.
