Da Capo then Da Capo to Fine 2005-10-24 03:09 pm How can I repeat the whole piece twice but stopping in the middle the second time ? The sequence is AB-AB-A.I tried to use:section_A + FINE + section_B + 1st ending="D.C." + 2nd ending ="D.C. AL FINE"But it doe not work because the FINE is not ignored after the first D.C. Re: Da Capo then Da Capo to Fine Reply #1 – 2005-10-24 04:05 pm These flow directions are not terribly flexible in Noteworthy and you often have to cheat.A fairly simple way is to put a fine at the end of section A followed by a hidden Master Repeat Close (MRC) at the end of section B. Then put your DC al fine followed by a visible MRC.This second MRC is cosmetic: it will be ignored: the hidden one does the work: but otherwise the DC al fine gets orphaned at the end of the staff. Re: Da Capo then Da Capo to Fine Reply #2 – 2005-10-24 04:07 pm Try this:Start your piece with an open repeat sign at the very beginning.Put in the Fine where you want you want the piece to stop.Have a first ending that ends with a close repeat sign (don't put a DC there, since it will just go back to the open repeat sign at the beginning of the piece. Also, if the piece is exactly the same each time through, just use a one-measure 1st ending, so you just have to enter just one measure for the 2nd ending).Have a second ending that ends with a DC al Fine (you don't need a close repeat sign here).Hope this helps,John Quote Selected
