Future reference is it hard to use

Is the program hard to use because I am thinking of buying it and I want to know is a good program.  Keep it positive please but if it is poor say it needs work on not if it is **** ok.

You will probably find it extremely easy to use and very flexible.  NWC and NWC version 2 which is not in public preview, are excellent products.  Version 2, of course, has many improvements over version 1.

There are some things that can't be done directly by the program, but usually there's a workaround.  Using this forum will almost always result in another user helping you solve any problem you encounter.

Despite my positive comments, I have no financial interest in Noteworthy.  I've just been using it for 8 years, quite intensively for the last 2.

The program is quite easy to start with. As you go along, you will find that the program often offers more than one way to do things, and you simply choose the way that suits you best.

Good news and bad news: the bad news is, there's a lot to learn, the good news is: there's no reason to learn everything! Just like in Word, who needs all functions?
And more good news: You'll have much fun doing it.
And the learning curve is gentle. Like Gimli said in Lord of the Rings: What are we waiting for?

NWC (also NWC2) has up sides and down sides. Ease of use is an upside - big time! The main downside is that if what you want to do doesn't happen to be within the program's capabilities, the work-arounds may be difficult.

Be sure to test the product with the kind of music you intend to do, or look at samples provided by others. There are numerous NWC files in native format, all over the Internet, and at the "scriptorium" (link to there from NWC main page).

I've been using NWC for some 5 years. Our music director has Finale - but then got NWC when she saw me using it.

We recommend that you start with the evaluation version. It should give you a very good idea of when NWC is all about.

The User Guide which comes with the evaluation version of Noteworthy will take you through a simple exercise of producing a score for "Jingle Bells", with the words.
From this you will get a very good idea of what it is like and you will probably finish up buying it!
No other program on the market offers more for the price.
For many of us, the more expensive and comprehensive programs demand more skill than we can provide, good as they may be.
