Tremolo notation

Apologies if this has been raised previously! I need to be able to show/print a tremolo on two alternating notes, i.e. two notes beamed with "floating" beams. Has anyone found a decent workaround for this? Part of the problem is that if the beams are "texted" in, you still need to be able to show two notes of a certain length which should only take up the space of one.

(I know I can create the sound needed with actual repeated notes on an invisible staff - it's the printing that matters.)

Thanks

The NWC ornamental font, created by some other dedicated NWC user, has some very nice single, double and triple "hash marks". Both ascending and descending. From Vibe or Marimba music I've seen, this should work nicely.

Spacing the notes exactly the way you want may require layering, if you want a slight visual offset between the top and bottom notes without adding beats to the bar.
