Title: figured bass
Post by: flutist on 2019-02-10 08:52 am
I transcribe baroque music with figured bass, putting the figures under the stave as text. I need to be able to use accidental signs with no note attached. Flats and sharps OK, but how do I print a natural sign.

Depends on the font you're using, but far and away the easiest is to use "Staff Symbols - ..." as the display font for your text entry.  This is the System font NWC is using to create stuff on the staff and contains sharps, flats and the natural.

Maybe the XText.hmm (https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=9737.0) plugin is helpful here, because it allows mixing different fonts in one object. I have attached a figured bass example to show its usage (hopefully, the chord numbers are correct - my knowledge here is quite rusty ...).
