How do I go about putting two words on a single note? If I use a space between words, then I get the words spread across two notes.
Use the underscore (_) between words instead of the space. This IS in the help file, but is two paragraphs after where you would expect to find it. (ie the list of special characters).
That should do the trick.

This keyboard symbol "~" inserted in place of a hyphen will also position two words on a single note.
