While that certainly looks odd, it seems to agree with Alfred's (p. 22). Although perhaps NWC is extending the extra dots in the wrong direction (Alfred's shows them in the direction of the notehead, rather than the stem).

For a variety of reasons, IMO, NWC would be improved if 'Augmentation Dots' was added to the Marker (https://noteworthycomposer.com/hh/nwc2/MNU_ADDMARKER.htm) item list.
It appears that this will be handled by a new 'Extra Dot Spacing' option.

My score just shows 5 dots, and I think it's enough to convey the message.
Alfred has not such a cluttered chord but with the harp I have many!  :))

It is probably reasonable to consider any dots extending more than a staff position beyond the chord to be unnecessary.
