The slurs now ignore the articulation.

Good. The staccato dots are in the wrong place.
I suppose you mean "use stem for articulation".
Well, the original score does not.
And, as far as I can remember, the previous versions of NWC had no problem.
I know it could be annoying for a long works but, why don't you use markers? ;)

I do not.
At best, previous versions of NWC had a different problem.
Because I don't want to change all the old scores I have in my archive! :o
So could you elaborate, pelase?
Within a staff, staccato dots are vertically centered in the staff spaces.
There is some disagreement in the ranks, here on the forum, about how slurs should interact with articulations. Those who follow Alfred's generally prefer to have the articulations outside the slurs. I follow the Music Publishers' Association guidelines, and they specify that the articulations should be inside the slurs. The markers allow us to each make our own choice. I sympathize with the multiple-past-scores-correction problem, but things like that are sometimes the price of progress. With my own older scores, I will simply be correcting them as needed for a performance or a new printout, and leaving the rest as is.
Ok. But aren't they so in my snippet?
I still don't understand. Probably it's better if I go to bed...
Bill, I can accept the dots inside or outside the slur.
What I can't accept are the dots
on the slur!
Well, ok, you're right.
Once magnified I can see that the dots are closer to a line than to the middle of the space, but I can live with it.
What's horrible is the dots on the slur.
I agree that that's pretty ugly. Markers will fix it, but they shouldn't have to. The slur should choose one side or the other of the staccato dots.
