It would be a great help if the User Guide (nwc251buide.pdf) had page numbers.

Well, the How To Guide does have page numbers: you can see them in the table of contents :) But I take your point, it seems that Eric forgot to enable them at the bottom of the pages (they are on in the tutorial)
