I'm seriously looking at purchasing Noteworthy as it does what I want it to do except.... I want to be able to easily produce tab for Guitar and Mandolin from music entered. Can this be done with Noteworthy or from Noteworthy via some other software Thanks Paul
Paul,
The most obvious method for me would be to export a midi version and convert that.
Try wwwing to altavista.digital.com and entering +"midi to guitar tab" conversion (that's two arguments, the compulsory phrase "midi to guitar" and the optional "conversion". This should give you a list of about nine sources to track down. They all seem to be preoccupied with the old ASCII output, but you may strike it lucky somewhere.
I imagine that a program that produces both tabulature AND score notation would be quite expensive.
Andrew
Yes, there is a program called TAB-IT which will allow import of midi.
I have seen a program called Tabledit. I found it at www.tabledit.com. It allows you to enter music in standard notation and will plot tablature and fretboard locations for most stringed instruments. Registration is $55.00. I haven't checked, but I assume that it will import MIDI files.
Hope this helps.
Yo Andy,
You're right bud'.
The ones I've checked out haven't got the legs to do it.
Though Noteworthy will kick if they could add guitar tabs (as like, part of its like functionality man).
