G'day Johann,
There is a utility called "nwc2xml".  I thought it would be on the Scripto but I can't find it there...  However, Google is my friend!: http://www.geocities.com/juria90/nwc.html

It's only good for NWC1 files, doesn't work for NWC2...  yet apparently...

James Lee is writing / has written a NWC to XML program

I believe this is only version 1, but version 2 files can now be exported to version 1.

Edit
Ahh Lawrie replied while I was typing - but both of us with the same result.
Not on the Scripto because it hasn't been submitted  :(  -  But having said that - I would be wary about hosting executables where I cannot see the source document and know that the compiled version is indeed from the source.
