Title: Lost CD, moving NWC from 1 PC to another PC, help!!!
Post by: slimjim on 2007-09-25 02:52 pm
Hey guys. I have NWC on an old system that is nearly dead. I installed it way back in 2001, but now want to move it to my newer computer. I moved the program file, font etc. from this old computer to the new one. I need to know where the registry file would be located at in RegEdit for NWC since I lost the CD w/ the original key that unlocked the version on this system.

I have the older 1.7 version. Where is the license key in the windows registry or is there another way to extract the license to NWC from my  computer?

C:\WINDOWS\NWRgstry.ini
... The one file I know of that it leaves behind is nwrgstry.ini in the Windows directory. This remembers you as a registered user when, for example, uninstalling in order to install a new version.
You really ought to part with $15 for the CD.

If you switched computers, and have lost your package, you could run the following utility on your old computer that has an old version of NWC installed:

You could also order an inexpensive upgrade/replacement package:
