Title: Launching a File from NWC 2 Viewer
Post by: John Ford on 2006-10-27 09:26 pm
I was reading a message on the newsgroup and launched the attached file.  It launched into the NWC 2 viewer.  If I click on the button to load it into NWC2, I get the following error message:

"The Windows shell reports that the file could not be opened using the "Open with NWC Version 2" verb.  Is NWC 2 installed on your system correctly?  Have you manually altered the file associations?"

And then I get only an OK button to click (kind of weird response, since it's asking me two questions).

Anyway, if I click on the NWC1 button, it launches fine into NWC2 (it was an NWC2 file).  I have both NWC 1.75b and NWC Beta 2.06 installed on the computer.

However, I tested this with both an NWC 1 and NWC 2 file.  It only loads into NWC 2.  I'm sure there's a problem with my setup, but it's weird that it always goes to version 2, but only when I click on the version 1 button.

Uninstalling the viewer and reinstalling it from:

should solve your problem.

If you have NWC1, NWC2, and the NWC Viewer installed, then you should have at least three actions associated with *.nwc files:

If you have altered these actions, you can fix the first two by reinstalling  the Viewer. In order to fix the last action, you have to reinstall NWC2.
