Title: Modern a (440) vs Baroque A (415)
Post by: Stephen Barbour on 2005-03-22 01:44 pm
I play both classical music on instruments tuned at A440 and Renaissance - Baroque music on instruments tuned at A415. I have been using Noteworthy for several years and now have Version 2.  Is there any kind of switch to change the playback of Noteworthy music to the appropriate tuning?

Set staff transposition to -1. If that isn't good enough, use MPC pitch bend for finer adjustment.

If what you want is for it to look "normal" but sound at low pitch, I think the easiest way is to go to "staff properties" (press F2), then click "midi/transposition" to -1. You could do it using "staff transposition", but you'd need an extra step.

You have to do this for each staff. If you do it often, it's handy to create some templates with the instrumental combinations you use most, and set up clefs and spacing and the transposition ahead of time.

I spent 10 years in 415-land, and I miss it. I wish I'd had Noteworthy then.

My playback is one semitone off. Transposition doesn't help in playback.

It should. You might also try a pitch bend.

Hi,
take a look at this...

as it's been said in the thread, it's quite a useless object for lots of reasons, but for some kind of simple playback it might work ;)

Let us know if it worked  :))
