Title: Whats MIDI?
Post by: Stephen Randall on 1997-02-06 05:00 am
Can anyone recommend a good book on the terminology and workings of MIDI.

Music I understand. Computers I understand. Now I'd like to find out about the bit in between.

OK, I've found it myself.

I had looked on the web before with little succes. However, a couple of days after posting my query I came across www.eeb.ele.tue.nl/midi/intro.html which gives a good basic description of MIDI in language I can understand.

Perhaps a link to this page could be included on the NoteWorthy site for other MIDI newbies.

I am glad that you found a site. A web search is always a good ideam as well as visits to local libraries and book stores. Inlucding your link, here are two links that have intro MIDI information:

http://midiworld.com/mw_basic.htm

http://www.eeb.ele.tue.nl/midi/intro.html

I hope this helps.
