Title: barring with a rest
Post by: Bill on 2003-11-02 06:42 pm
I've not been able to find the answer to this problem. Maybe someone can point me to the solution.

I want to print an 8th-note, a 16th rest and a 16th-note as a barred group.  A dotted 8th and 16th can be barred, but when the rest is put in in place of the "dot" - no go.

Sorry for the awkward description :(

Bill

One of the web updates allows this to happen.
Are you totally up to date?
(btw, it's called beaming, not barring.)

I wonder if Bill 1 means he loses the beam when he tinkers with a dotted 8th/16th beamed group.  If so, the answer is likely as simple as beaming after tinkering.  Just highlight the new note group, and press Ctrl-B.

Thanks to the other Bill & David.  The upgrade to 1.75a did the trick!  Also, thanks for pointing out that it's called "beaming" not "barring." ;-)  (Duh on me.)
