Title: Exporting
Post by: Perry Baird on 1997-10-24 04:00 am
When I export a file, the "percussion staff" sounds right in Noteworthy, but not in my regular midi file. It sounds like a different instrument. I have the staff channel set on 10.

Thanks

You have not provided very much info, but I will try to help. If you are playing back your MIDI file through something like the Windows' Media Player, then the MIDI Mapper is used for playback. If you are using a different device driver for play back in NWC, then this might explain the difference. You can either change to using the MIDI Mapper in NWC (from the Options, MIDI Tab), or adjust your MIDI Mapper settings. The main point is that you should generally use the General MIDI percussion standard when composing a drum track, so it sounds correctly on all General MIDI equipment. The standard General MIDI drum assignments are in the NWC Help file Common Questions section.
