Title: Octave Sign &
Post by: Debbie Branco on 1997-09-01 04:00 am
Is there any way to put an "octave symbol" over a note? I'm not sure I am using the correct terminology, but I'm talking about the symbol used to indicate a note is played an octave higher than it's written.

Also, is there any way to indicate a broken chord?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There is a tip on arpeggiating chords in the User Tips section.

Visually:

Use the text tool and insert the text with Preserve Width turned OFF. Use spaces etc to align it properly and the text "8va ...."

Aurally:

Insert a new clef modified with Octave up.

Hope these help.
