I've got a VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM)and can't install an external keyboard.
My OS is Windows Millenium (I don't know if it may be a problem?)
Thanks for your help

We are not familiar with your equipment. You can look around the forum for other user's experiences with hooking up exterbal keyboards, and you might try checking with the manufacturer of your equipment to see if and how this is supported.

If you have a MIDI to 15-pin cable it likely was manufactured with the 5-pin DIN connectors labelled backward...apparently they were made with the thought that MIDI IN and OUT meant at the soundcard, not at the unit. Try reversing the MIDI connectors...I can't tell if this is your setup, but I have seen many folks discover that this was the problem.
