Title: When using TIE's over several notes, only the 1st one is heard when playing back
Post by: Gerryw8 on 2019-01-23 08:33 AM
Hi all,

Have worked a SATB song into NWC2.
It has on different measures in the different voices, now and then a few notes connected with ties.
When playing these back, I only hear the 1st note, but nog the rest which are connected to the 1st one with ties.

Anyone an idea what is going wrong with this?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings

Gerard

Are you referring to TIE's or SLUR's?
A TIE does not sound the second note, because there are no second or subsequent notes, the tie makes it/them a continuation of the first.

OTOH, a SLUR is an indication that each note is sounded, BUT there is no gap between notes and the attack on successive notes is not as pronounced; especially for wind players.

The shortcut key for a slur is ";" and it's done once for the whole chord.  For a tie, enter a "/" before each note in a chord with that attribute.
