Title: Beamed Notes Spanning Bar Lines
Post by: Blair Dowden on 1999-03-29 05:00 AM
The score I am working on (Für Elise) has beamed notes that cross bar lines. It would look a lot nicer with them. For example bar 13 and 14 in http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/Choir/1724/#piano . Is this a reasonable thing to wish for?

In the example you provide, it would probably be appropriate... but that being said, I'd be hard pressed to think of other examples where this would be desirable.

I suspect the problem is that beamed notes can't have anything between them (except I think mpc's), so if it were allowed to insert text, dynamics etc. between beamed notes, it shouldn't be much more difficult to allow insertion of a bar line.
