Title: Looking for Tchaikovskys Dance of the Swans
Post by: Sterghios Moschos on 1999-02-12 05:00 AM
I have spent a few hours on the net trying to locate the scores for the "Dance of the Swans" part of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake (or whatever it's called in English... :) ), but with no luck. I would appreciate it if anyone has it available, prefferably on midi format, for orchestra.

My band wish to cover it and I am supposed to figure out what each instrument should play, replacing parts of the classical orchestra. I promise not to make the master's bones rattle in his grave...

Try AltaVista http://www.altavista.com/ enter a query like:

+Tchaikovsky +swan +lake +midi

I got 268 hits, I'm sure at least one of them has what
you're looking for

As John Gillings suggested, try importing a midi file into NWC. Stuff like this should work fine (with the right import settings) except for triplets, which will invariably end up looking messy. My first port of call would be the Classical midi archives at
