I've just completed an arrangement of the Gounoud version of AVE MARIA. As a relative novice I'm kind of proud of myself over this. But my question is, on the last measure of the score I'd like to have all the staffs fade out. I know the symbol (with the less than or greater than pointers) but I don't know what they are called and I've been unable to find it in v1.75c. Any help?

To fade it out, you will need to insert a Volume
Multi-point Controller Command (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/nwchelp/MNU_ADDMIDICONTROLLER.htm) to each MIDI channel that has a note playing.
Very likely, the last measure is a whole note with a
fermata (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/nwchelp/MNU_TEMPOVARIANCE.htm). You may need to account for any delay set in the fermata.

The hairpins (the less than or greater than pointers) are not available in NWC 1.xx.
They are available only in v.2.xx.
In your case anyway those are just for printing.

Yes, it's completely different from the one for the forum.
Of course, it's the same both accessing it via a newsreader or via http(s).
