Title: Trplets
Post by: BandDad on 2014-06-29 07:44 PM
I'm trying to compose a piece which uses the notation two eighth notes equivalent to triplet of quarter and eighth note.  How can that be done?

Enter your quarter and eighth notes.  Select both of them then Cntl/T or click on the triplet icon (  3 over a bracket).

Sorry I wasn't clear.  The original score is all eighth notes, but the annotation indicates the pair of eighth notes = triplet of quarter / eight note.

Hi BandDad,
to swing the audio for an entire piece, or substantial parts, then I suggest you use a "tempo track" that does the swing for you.

A very easy method is described here:

For other discussion and other, more complex methods, do a search of the forum for the term "swing"

For the swing tempo mark, check out my font suites (SwingDings, MusikDingsSans and MusikdingsSerif) as these all contain the marking that can be used as a text entry.
