Title: Chord Alignment
Post by: Peter Edwards on 1999-01-07 05:00 AM
It was wonderful when you corrected the notehead positioning in chords (ie the treatment of seconds) but at the time you indicated that aligning chords on staves was still problematical. At present they line up on the left hand notes, rather than the head notes of the chords.

There does now seem to be a work-round in the experimental features where you can put extra space before a note, but this is a bit tiresome for a heavily chorded piece, especially if you then change a chord.

Have you any plans to automate this feature (please)?

I am not clear on what you mean.

NWC automatically aligns the members of a chord, handling the case of intervals of a 2nd.

When using staff layering, intervals of a 2nd must be handled manually, by selecting a note in one of the layered staves and pressing Ctrl+E to move its position.

Sorry if I'm not being clear. I've posted an example on the Newsgroup.
