Title: hymn playing
Post by: klmeyer on 2013-05-04 10:57 PM
Can I play a hymn on a midi keyboard, and have it show up in Noteworthy Composer?  I would want half notes entered as half notes, quarters as quarters, etc.  What I am after is transposing hymns without going through all of the steps I have to go through now, entering notes from scratch via the computer keyboard.

Also, if this is possible, which midi keyboard would be the best purchase?

Short answer = yes.

Long answer is there are a few things you need to do.  To get correct note lengths you need to record against a "click track" - this is a file NWC is playing while you record.

To save some effort on my part and give you some reading exercise ;) I've searched out a few links for you.  These are not exhaustive nor in any particular order...
