Title: Note Groupings
Post by: Shannon W. Mack on 1998-09-03 04:00 AM
I sit possible to do note groupings larger than triplets such as quintuplets, etc.? If so, how?

Not at the moment, though it has been asked for.
One work around is to use appropriate amounts of duplets (or fours) and triplets. This won't give you an even five (or anything for that matter).

I've always had a wish that when there is 2 16th notes followed by a 16th note triplet, that they are all beamed together. At the moment the triplet beams seperately from the even 16th notes. Opinions differ on whether it is correct to do it this way or not, I've seen it printed both ways, but gee it would be nice to have the option. It would make some of my files a lot easier to read. (See my recent posting to the newsgroup).

I would like to see the sixteenth triplets beamed to an eighth or 2 sixteenth notes also. I have always found sight-reading easier when the music is divided by beats rather than by random rhythm combinations.
