I do a lot of writing for SATB choir. I usually notate the tenor line in the treble clef. In NWC 1.7 I was able to then transpose the playback down an octave while keeping the notes in their position on the staff. In NWC 2 it seems that that is no longer an option and in order to get the playback in the right octave, it must be notated in that octave.
This is awkward, to say the least. Have I missed an easy fix?
Thanks
I think you missed a trick here - both in 1.75 and in 2. In each case the treble clef itself can be set either an octave above or an octave below, without any need for transposition. See "Insert|Clef - Octave shift".
Mind you, you CAN transpose in 2 if you wish - it's just in a different place ... it's in "Staff Properties - Instrument".

Three ways to have the Tenor sound an octve below written:
- Clef Properties->Octave Shift:'Octave Down'
- Staff Properties (http://ntworthy.com/nwc2/help/MNU_EDITSTAFF.htm)->Instrument (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/nwc2/help/TAB_INSTRUMENTPROP.htm)->Transposition:-12
- Instrument Change Command (http://ntworthy.com/nwc2/help/MNU_ADDPATCH.htm)->Properties (http://ntworthy.com/nwc2/help/TAB_INSTRUMENTPROP.htm)->Transposition:-12
The first method will place a small
8 under the Clef.
Thanks, guys...I KNEW there had to be an easy fix...I just was't finding it!
