Title: How can I put together these staves?
Post by: Peppermint Lin on 2009-12-24 07:36 AM
The file is on here (http://filesocial.com/1kwxpbs).

I exported to midi file, and imported with NWC, some notes have disappeared.
How can I put together them?

I'm not quite sure what you mean Sesirine, are you trying to get everything back onto 1 staff?

The only notes I see disappearing are in Staff: 'Standard Drum - Bells', measures 3-4 where:
Quote
!NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.0,Single)
|RestChord|Dur:8th|Opts:Stem=Down,ArticulationsOnStem|Dur2:4th|Pos2:7
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:8^
|Bar
|Chord|Dur:4th|Pos:7,8
!NoteWorthyComposerClip-End
is changed to:
Quote
!NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.0,Single)
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:7|Opts:Stem=Down,Beam=First
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:8|Opts:Stem=Down,Beam=End
|Bar
|Note|Dur:4th|Pos:7
!NoteWorthyComposerClip-End
and in measure 8 where:
Quote
!NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.0,Single)
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:8^
|Chord|Dur:8th|Pos:7|Opts:Stem=Down,Beam=First|Dur2:4th|Pos2:8
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:7|Opts:Stem=Down,Beam=End
!NoteWorthyComposerClip-End
is changed to:
Quote
!NoteWorthyComposerClip(2.0,Single)
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:8|Opts:Stem=Down,Beam=End
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:7|Opts:Stem=Down,Beam=First
|Note|Dur:8th|Pos:7|Opts:Stem=Down,Beam=End
!NoteWorthyComposerClip-End
This is normal NWC2 importing. On import, multiple voices on a staff having different durations get changed.
If you want to avoid this, use more staves.

I would note that when you send Patch: 116 on the 'Standard Drum - Taiko Drum' staff, you change the patch for all of MIDI channel 10. Probably not what you want, but the problem lies with MIDI, not NWC2.

Edit: attached Sesirine's file for those that might otherwise have trouble retrieving it.

Actually, I wanted like this(as Lawrie may expected), but my problem is that some notes (Taiko Drums) are missing.

In that case, when importing from midi, On step 2, you need to change the maximum single track chord size to something much higher than it is. The default is 18, change this to something like 80 and also untick the "Map each midi channel to a new staff".

I think that would work for you.

Ok, so you want to export it as a Type0 MIDI. Upon Import, in measure 2, the Gnat and Fnat are missing. NWC2 can't display them as simple chords, so it ignores them.
NWC2 does export to the MIDI file, as you may be able to tell from this mf2t output:
Quote from: mf2t -bn WINTER~1.mid | find "1:3" | find /v "v=0"
1:3:0 On ch=10 n=b6 v=127
1:3:0 On ch=10 n=b2 v=60
1:3:0 On ch=10 n=c3 v=60
1:3:0 On ch=10 n=d#3 v=60
1:3:0 On ch=10 n=e3 v=60
1:3:0 On ch=10 n=g#3 v=60
1:3:0 On ch=10 n=g3 v=108
1:3:96 On ch=10 n=b2 v=60
1:3:96 On ch=10 n=c3 v=60
1:3:96 On ch=10 n=d#3 v=60
1:3:96 On ch=10 n=e3 v=60
1:3:96 On ch=10 n=f#3 v=60
1:3:96 On ch=10 n=g#3 v=60
1:3:96 On ch=10 n=f3 v=108
For NoteWorthy to import this correctly, it would need to render MIDI import as a split chord. Good luck with getting them to do that!
