Title: Automatic unbeam ?
Post by: Olivier Miakinen on 1998-08-11 04:00 AM
I don't have the latest version (1.52a) but a rather recent
one (1.50 or 1.51, I don't remember).

I have a score where the notes were automatically beamed
in a 4/4 time signature (i.e. 8th notes are beamed 2 by 2).
I would like to beam them 4 by 4, then I changed time
signature to 2/2 and clicked on "Automatic beam". Too bad,
since the notes are beamed already, this doesn't work.

I tried to select all the staff in order to unbeam all,
but it doesn't work because (I presume) there are also
quarter notes and half notes.

The only solution is to export the file to MIDI, and
reimport it. But then I loose all my triplets !

Please help me if you can...

A macro is one way to ease the burden of re-beaming the groups.
Do have the old Win3.x Recorder.exe buried away in your hard disk?
I have a macro to do just that - but you need the Recorder.exe file on your system.
Let me know.

This is actually a bug, indirectly anyway. We will give this item priority in the next release.
