Title: how to handle SF2 file with organ registers
Post by: Mazzltov on 2009-04-14 12:57 AM
Hallo All,

How can I handle with SF2 organ files in order to use them in Noteworthy instead of General midi files?
Thanks in advance!

Yours sincerely,

Mazzltov

G'day Mazzltov,

To summarise a little, assuming you have a creative card, you will have a GM font loaded in, say, synth A.  You can also load the Jeux organ soundfonts into the same synth, and because they use a different bank they won't interfere with your GM sounds.  Just make sure you set sufficient SF memory aside for your needs.

To use them you need to correctly specify the bank and instrument patch data - this is made easy with the correct itree (in NWC2)

This will link you to a post that will in turn eventually link you to Andrew Purdam's Jeux itree:

The details within this file can be incorporated into your normal itree if you wish.  Information relating to itree creation etc. is contained within the default itree that ships with NWC2.
