I've just been contacted by someone trying to download some .nwc pieces from my site using the Viewer. He gets an error message that says "File uses new format."
Yes, I've directed him to support, but this is the third person in the past two weeks. He just downloaded the Viewer (version 2.21). I'm clueless as to what could be wrong, since all my files are in NWC2.

Get them to download the latest copy of the viewer.
They probably have an early copy.

But when asked what version of the Viewer was in use he reported 2.21, which was what was available when I looked just before writing.

Well that's most odd because if I save a new piece of music using the latest version of NWC2 then version 2.21 of the viewer will open and play it without any problems.
Can you leave a URL to the nwc2 file on your site and I'll give it a go?

Ahh - Just seen the thread in the NWC2 area and I confirm the same as Rick - opened without problem using the viewer.
Currently, version 2.21 of the NWC Viewer can open any file created by NWC2 up through NWC2 Beta 2.23. I would direct anyone using the NWC Viewer to the Check for Web Updates in the program's Help menu.
