Title: Trills
Post by: PIRAHNAPLANT on 2007-12-15 03:47 AM
I got a question pertaining to Trills
Is there an easy way of putting in trills, or do you have to manually put them in everytime
Just wondering

Manual it is.  We usually put 'em in a hidden/sounding staff and put a text trill marker from a user font in the printing staff.

Go to the page setup dialog (that's the "open book" icon in the button bar, or you can access it from the file menu). Click on the "contents" tab. You'll see a bunch of check boxes, in two columns, one labeled "groups" and the other labeled "visible parts." Uncheck the box in the "visible parts" column corresponding to the staff you want to hide. That staff will disappear from your screen and from the printout, but it will still sound (unless you mute it, but that's a different topic).

All best,

Bill

Quite a name you chose there. The choice of pirahna as opposed to piranha is on purpose?
There is nothing much I can add to the topic, since your problem has already been solved.
cheers,
Rob.

Yea, if you really want to know why it is spelled wrong, it is because on the old Nintendo Forums, I had to spell it wrong, or it would be an already taken name.  So I guess I just didn't want to change it.

Just a finishing thought about the trill.  You'll want to mute the note on the visible staff to avoid a clash.  So you'll hear the hidden notes, and see the muted one.
