Title: How to change staff spacing between verses and chorus?
Post by: TonyMo on 2007-11-27 08:42 AM
Hi, I am producing a lead sheet for a song that has several verses and a chorus. I have put the verses each in their own lyric line, and the chorus in lyric line 1 following the verse.

This works fine, but there is a lot of wasted space between staves in the chorus, because it is allowing space for the other blank lyric lines.

How can I move the staves closer together in the chorus only?

I'm using NWC 1.75c

Cheers
Tony

G'day Tony,
short answer: you can't.

Long answer:  If you have some skill with graphics editors you can export (Copy from Print Preview) to a .wmf file and edit that.

E.G. in Open Office you can open the file in "Draw", select the graphic, right click it and select "Break" it.  This will allow you to select individual components OR groups components and move them about.  When you're done, you can select everything an by right clicking you can select "Group" and put it all back as a single graphic...
