I have written a score in Eb but it plays in Ab. What gives??
MIDI transposition? - check staff properties - MIDI tab - Transposition. Should be "0"
No MIDI---playback is on noteworthy program. Still confused.
Noteworthy uses MIDI to perform the playback...
Select the staff, press <Alt-Enter> to get to staff properties, click the MIDI tab and check the 3rd "spin box" down, it is labelled Transposition - the value should be "0" (zero)
If this is correct and you're absolutely sure about what you're hearing then there is possibly something dodgy about your MIDI subsystem...
<edit> I just had a thought - did you enter this from a score in Ab and then use NWC to transpose to Eb? If so, then you probably left the "Update staff play back transposition" checked. This will result in the visible score being transposed but the playback left in the original key - Extremely useful if you're doing stuff for a transposing instrument like a Trumpet or Sax, but not useful if you actually want to change the key for a concert pitch instrument.
You're right. I did transpose the score. Can I get it to sound right somehow?
Thanx.
Yes you can. Select the staff, go to the Midi tab. Staff transposition should be 0.
cheers,
Rob.

Sometimes I my playback gets a bit wonky, but then I do a restart and then everything
is cooking just fine again. But since I increased the memory I havent had this problem
