Title: Slurs were better in the old version
Post by: donkie_sjot on 2007-06-21 02:45 PM
Hi there,

The slur in version 2 are now drawn to the next notehead. In version 1.75 they were drawn more flat, whitch is more pro. Is it possible to make the slur working like in the old version? See the difference in the attachment (PDF).

Gr. Donkie.

Ahh, g'day...
I must say that in general, I disagree, however...

While I prefer the NWC2 slurs to the NWC1 variety, I do acknowledge that they still leave a bit to be desired.  The fact that you can't specify both the start and end points of the slurs:

in addition to their direction can be a pain.

What makes this worse, is that sometimes, and I haven't figured out the exact conditions yet, a slur can often end at a note head when the stem end would make much more sense - your example provides just such a situation.

In fact, this slur should IMHO end partway up the stem.

I reckon we do need better control of this one...

Not just your opinion, but a rule.
The slur should end halfway up the stem.
(Don't have my book handy right now for the exact wording...)
