Title: Non printing rests
Post by: Keith Markham on 1998-07-03 04:00 AM
An added refinement to Noteworthy would be the ability to place a rest in a bar without it showing in the print. Useful for opening bar where the first note is not on the first beat. Also for producing a sort of score with blank bars, allowing the use of an old fashioned pencil on the printout. (? Or have I missed somewhere how to do this?)

NWC handles anacrusis (oftimes mispronounced by me as aneurism or enuresis !) just fine.
Just enter your note, and then enter the bar line.

To create score paper,
1) create a whole lot of staves with the spacing that you desire
2) go to Page Setup | Options and Extend Last System
3) Print.

_I_ would like to hide rests so that I can do complicated stuff like crossovers from staff to staff on piano scores, or multi part pieces without rests getting in the way (though this second can be fixed by other means viz rests being able to move up or down the staff).

Thanks for your comments. Your last paragraph really reflects my own feeling - hidden rests would be really useful
