Title: Whole note rests? Where can I find them?
Post by: Scully15 on 2007-03-15 03:16 PM
I have just received NWC cd 1.75 and I cannot find the whole note (the black rectangle that hangs / juts up from a staff line).

Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

Hi ya - welcome.

All rests are obtained in the same way. Select the value of the note that you want .

Instead of pressing the enter key to get the note, press the space bar and you will get the equivalent rest.

Scully,

Also remember that the whole-note rest can also be a measure rest, no matter what the time signature.  Thus, if you are in 6/8 time, and want to put in a rest for the entire measure, the whole-note rest is all you need.  You don't have to put in enough rests to make up six eighth notes.
